Some More Detailed Information:

Many of the details of this new Impreza model were released to Australian media in Japan. This car sees the debut of the brand new Subaru modular platform that will be used in virtually every new car for the foreseeable future. Pricing starts at $22,400 plus on roads for the 2.0i sedan. The top of the range model is the 2.0S hatch which comes in at 29,190 plus on road costs. Prices for the other models in the ranges are listed below.

The Engine Specifications:

The 2017 Impreza range is powered by a 2.0 litre four cylinder “boxer” style engine. One could be forgiven for thinking that this is the same engine as the outgoing model, but that is incorrect. In fact, this powerplant is a revised version which generates 115 kW of power (an increase of 5 kW over the outgoing model) and an unchanged 196 Nm of torque. It is important to note that Premium (95 RON) fuel is now needed to run this engine. There are currently no detailed fuel economy figures available.

The Different Levels of Equipment:

The outgoing generation of Impreza had a manual model that was available in an entry level trim, but this is no longer the case. The new Impreza range is only available with an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT). Both the sedan and hatch models are approximately 4 cm wider and 1 cm lower which marginally improves the aerodynamic profile. The hatch has a rear storage of 345 litres (up 5 litres on the previous generation) with the rear seats in place. Standard features on all models include: a new infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple Carplay support, USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, climate control, auto stop start, a rearview camera and 17” alloy wheels. As you spec up, other features, such as EyeSight, larger infotainment screens, LED daytime lights, powered driving seats, adaptive cruise control, and others become available.
