SUBARU BRZ…A REAL SUBARU
The Subaru BRZ is a unique demonstration of the benefits of the Boxer engine and a low centre of gravity, achieving superior fore and aft weight distribution. A vehicle unique in the Subaru range, with a performance driven rear wheel drive design and Subaru’s renowned engineering soul.
It took a lot of convincing for Subaru’s engineers to rewrite the rules when they designed the Subaru BRZ. However given that the first Subaru produced in 1958 featured rear wheel drive, the opportunity to develop a rear wheel drive sports car was not to be missed.
The starting points were the ideal engine mounting position and the driving position. These dictated all other design parameters; Subaru BRZ is an unapologetic sports car in the classic tradition.
We broke all the rules when we designed the Subaru BRZ. A car unique in the Subaru range, with a rear wheel drive design, powered by our renowned engineering soul. This gives the most optimum weight balance possible, maximising your fun with its superior handling.

SPECS & FEATURES
Subaru BRZ is built for epic family adventures. All for amazing value with more of the practical features you want as standard across the range, including our legendary Boxer engine, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and rear view reverse camera.
Maximum torque (DIN) 212Nm @ 6400-6800rpm (MT) / 205Nm @ 6400-6600rpm (AT)
/ 7.8(AT) Combined fuel consumption
Because you never know what’s around the corner, the Subaru BRZ is built with some of the very latest technologies. It’s safety without compromise – an integral part of any performance car.
Thanks to its clever combination of collision protection technology, Subaru BRZ has achieved the maximum 5 star ANCAP1 safety rating. This is a result of an incredibly rigorous safety innovation program that includes seven SRS2 airbags – dual front, dual front side, curtain-style and drivers-knee – and a whiplash-reducing design, which provides extreme support for passengers’ head, neck and torso.
In case of an accident, the ring-shaped passenger cell redirects impact energy around your passengers, while the body frame is structured to distribute the impact to reduce cabin distortion.
The Safer Engine
The famous Subaru Boxer engine is not only a great performer; it also helps to reduce the risk of injury in a severe frontal collision. This is because it’s designed to sit lower and flatter in the engine bay than traditional engines, so it will slide below the cabin – not through it – in a heavy front end accident.
Driver Assistance at the Ready
Sudden stopping. Surprise roadworks. Hairpin turns. Subaru BRZ is ready for extreme urban conditions with its electronic driver assist system, Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC).
Constantly analysing through an array of sensors, VDC includes:
Electronic Stability Control: Helps you gain control if you unexpectedly understeer or oversteer, by applying brakes, reducing engine power and distributing torque.
Traction Control System: Helps you minimise your wheel slip by reducing engine power.
Up-to-Date on the Road
You’ll never need to look away from the road, with the new Multi-Information Display unit providing all your vehicle information right in the centre of your instrument cluster. Located directly in front of the driver, it includes information like outside temperature and fuel economy.
