Looking for a Subaru XV for Sale? Perth Drivers Should Read This

2017-subaru-xv

This is a detailed review for the new Subaru XV that will be available in Australia. There has been a lot of buzz generated as the launch date has drawn closer. The specifications have been finalised; we can look forward to a next generation XV that may be even more popular than the outgoing model. Let’s take a closer look at what the 2017 Subaru XV has to offer.

A Totally New XV?

Well, let’s be honest the Subaru XV was a smash hit in Australia and Subaru would be crazy to ditch a winning formula. However, it is fair to say that the changes are subtle and the things that made us love the XV are still there. For the uninitiated, the XV is basically the hatchback version of the Impreza after a session at the gym. This car is more muscular; it has aggressive styling, larger wheels, flared wheel arches and a raised suspension.

So What’s New?

The latest generation Subaru XV, much like the Impreza it’s based on, will have: a revamped 2.0L four cylinder boxer engine, continuously variable transmission (CVT), and an automatic gearbox. It’s worth mentioning that the outgoing model had a manual gearbox option, but this latest model is automatic only. The line up should mirror the Impreza with a total of four different Subaru XV variants to choose from, they are (in ascending price): 2.0i, 2.0i-L, 2.0i Premium and the flagship 2.0i-S model. As one would expect, the new XV will be an all wheel drive small SUV unlike many of its competition.

More Off Road Features:

The new XV will be comfortable like the new Subaru Impreza, but it is a true small SUV with impressive off road functionality. The X-Mode off road modulation system add at the touch of the button some great off road functionality, such as adjustable throttle response, traction control, stability control, controlled braking and the AWD system. There is a hill descent mode, the same 220mm of ground clearance as the last generation, an 18 degree approach angle and a 30 degree departure angle. The new engine has 115kW of power, which is an increase of 5kw, but the torque is unchanged over the last generation at 196 Nm.
