The Subaru WRX is the next in line to receive an S-Edition variant with some exciting enhancements. This 2017 version follows on from last years 2016 WRX Special Edition and the previous 2015 WRX Hyper Blue Edition. The 2017 WRX S-Edition:
The first thing to mention is the availability that is limited in Australia to 250 units only. Essentially, the WRX S-Edition is a WRX Premium with some interior and exterior upgrades to give it more individuality and functionality. In the cabin we have STI seats, upgraded trim levels, tinted windows, and either an automatic or manual STI gear knob. The first exterior features an STI strut tower brace bar, an STI front lip spoiler, an S-Edition badge, and 18” gloss black BBS alloy wheels. The engine is the same as the base model; we have a 2.0 litre four cylinder ‘Boxer’ turbocharged powerplant that generates 197 kW of power and 350Nm of torque. This engine is paired with either a six speed manual or a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) automatic. The transmission types are split evenly over the available models with 125 manual and 125 automatic. The WRX Premium is available from $45,140 plus on roads; the S-Edition enhancements add $2,350 bringing the price up to $47,490 plus on roads.
