Best Specification of Subaru Impreza?

The 2017 Subaru Impreza is an impressive new offering on this perennial favourite. This latest generation Impreza is available as a sedan or hatch, and there are a number of variants to choose from. This begs the question, which Impreza has the best specification and offers the most value for money. Let’s take a closer look at the range and present the model that we think is the pick of the bunch.

The Subaru Impreza Basic Specifications:

All of the Impreza variants are roomy inside and come with plenty of equipment as standard, such as automatic braking, all wheel drive and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The engine is 2.0 litre powerplant that generates 115kW of power and 196 Nm of torque. There is plenty of safety equipment onboard earning the Impreza a 5 star ANCAP safety rating.

Exploring the Impreza Variants:

Essentially, the Impreza has four different specification levels for both the wagon and sedan versions. In every instance, the hatch costs an additional $200, the sedan has 460 litres of boot space and the hatch has 345 litres of storage available. The differences in the cars across the range are as follows:

The Impreza 2.0i:

This is the entry level model, in addition to the standard specification, it has the following equipment: cruise control, a 6.2” infotainment touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, an electronic parking brake, hill start assist, daytime running lights, cloth seats, and 17” alloy wheels.

The Impreza 2.0i-L:

This is the next model up and it adds a lot more kit, such as: the EyeSight active safety suite, adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking for city and highway speeds, lane departure warning, an 8” infotainment touchscreen, a pair of multifunction displays, a premium cloth seat trim, a leather steering wheel and gear stick, powered door mirrors and dual zone climate control.

The Impreza 2.0i Premium:

This model, adds satellite navigation and a powered sunroof.

The Impreza 2.0i-S:

This is the flagship model, in addition to all the other models equipment, there is also: partial leather seat trim, a powered adjustable driving seat, automatic windscreen wipers, LED automatic headlights, lane change assistance, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, torque vectoring, sporty exterior trim and 18” alloy wheels.

The pick of the bunch for many people will be the flagship Impreza 2.0i-S. As one would expect at the top of the range, it has the best equipment package, with plenty of luxury touches. This level of equipment is not even available on some of the Impreza’s more expensive rivals.
